We have brought together some of London’s most respected recovery specialists to create bespoke aftercare packages for our patients. These thoughtfully combined therapies will support healing, ease swelling and make the post-operative period as smooth and as calm as possible.
Every package is arranged entirely around you. We coordinate your pre- and post-surgery bookings with your suture-removal and review appointments, so that everything is in place when you need it and nothing is left for you to think about.
Attentive, round the clock care
At the heart of your aftercare is our lead specialist nurse. Laura is highly experienced in facial rejuvenation. Alongside her team of nursing staff, you will be provided with twenty-four-hour support even before your surgery. From before your surgery through to your recovery, there is always someone to call (day or night) for specialist advice and reassurance. It is care designed to put you completely at ease: personal, responsive and never rushed.
This continuity runs through every detail. Wherever your surgery takes place (most often at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth) your sutures will be removed by members of our own nursing team, rather than by hospital staff unfamiliar with your procedure. The Treatments
For most facial rejuvenation procedures, your anaesthetist will usually
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) 60 minutes
Delivered at the Longevity Clinics in Chelsea and Queensway, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to support the body’s natural recovery during the post-operative period – helping you feel comfortable and well cared for as you heal.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) 45 minutes
Provided by our specialist in Belgravia, MLD is a gentle, focused treatment designed to support fluid reduction, improve circulation and reduce swelling. A traditional and highly effective part of facial recovery.
Recovery Expert Treatment 60 minutes
Our gold standard for post-surgical recovery: a highly advanced, personalised treatment, tailored to your stage of healing. It may include:
- Advanced wound support where needed.
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Specialised techniques to help prevent fibrosis and adhesions
- Low-level red and infrared laser therapy to support healing
- Kinesio and/or silicone taping for scar optimisation

Demystifying anaesthesia: the things patients actually worry about
Most anaesthetic anxiety isn’t about the medicine — it’s about the unknown. Here are honest answers to the questions patients ask me most, and rarely feel able to ask out loud:
“Will I feel anything, or be aware during the operation?”
No. Under general anaesthesia or TIVA you are fully unconscious and have no awareness, sensation or memory of the procedure. Your anaesthetist monitors the depth of your anaesthesia continuously and adjusts it throughout – it’s never left to chance.
“What if I don’t wake up?”
This is the fear almost everyone carries and almost nobody voices. For a healthy person having planned surgery, serious anaesthetic complications are very rare. Large UK studies put the risk of a serious problem from elective anaesthesia in the region of a few per million — lower than many everyday risks we don’t think twice about. My anaesthetist’s job, throughout, is simply to keep that margin as wide as possible.
“What does ‘twilight’ or ‘sedation’ actually mean?”
It’s a loosely used phrase that can mean very different depths of anaesthesia, which is part of why it causes confusion. Rather than a vague label, your anaesthetist will tell you precisely what you’ll experience and why it’s been chosen for you.
“Who looks after me while I’m asleep?”
One consultant anaesthetist, will be dedicated to you, for the entire operation. They will manage your breathing, circulation, comfort and depth of anaesthesia from the moment you drift off until you’re safely awake in recovery.
