Affiliations
Mr Kshem Yapa is a highly trained and board-certified London based plastic surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He is committed to delivering natural results that enhance his patients’ appearance and confidence whilst preserving their unique character. He specialises in advanced facial rejuvenation procedures including deep plane facelift and neck lift surgery, ultrasonic rhinoplasty, lip lift surgery, facial fat grafting and endoscopic facelift techniques.
Mr Yapa combines meticulous surgical technique with a refined aesthetic approach developed through extensive training and experience. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and holds a PhD in the biology of fat-derived stem cells, with a particular interest in facial fat grafting, facial volume restoration and the science of facial ageing.
Mr Yapa holds both private practice and NHS roles and is committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care with an honest, kind and open approach. In his NHS role he works as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, one of the United Kingdom’s leading academic healthcare organisations. He featured in the Channel 4 documentary Emergency, which explored London’s major trauma network and the role of plastic surgeons in the care of these patients.
He conducts his private practice at St John’s & St Elizabeth Hospital and The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, and consults patients in his rooms on Harley Street.
Education & training
A Foundation Built on Academic and Surgical Excellence
Mr Yapa graduated from Cambridge University and completed a PhD undertaken at Stanford University in California and King’s College London, focusing on stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. He developed an early interest in plastic surgery during placements at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast) and is fully certified on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.
In addition to completing a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Manchester, Mr Yapa has undertaken international training in the United States, Paris and London, including advanced training in facial rejuvenation surgery. He believes in combining the best techniques and knowledge from around the world to deliver natural, long-lasting results and the highest standards of patient care.
He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), and an international member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

Lauren Poskitt
Lauren has over 20 years of experience supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. She works closely with patients, surgeons, anaesthetists, and hospitals to ensure every aspect of the booking process runs smoothly. With expertise in patient coordination and diary management, Lauren helps arrange consultations, treatments, and follow-up appointments around each patient’s individual needs.
As a Medical Secretary with AMSPAR Medical Terminology certification, Lauren has a strong understanding of medical procedures and patient care pathways. Together with Specialist Cosmetic Care Nurse Laura Summers, she supports Mr Yapa’s patients with both clinical and non-clinical queries before and after surgery.

Laura Summers
Laura is a Registered General Nurse who qualified from Bournemouth University in 2013. With a background in haematology, oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, she has extensive experience caring for patients throughout their surgical journey. Having worked for a leading national cosmetic surgery provider and alongside many respected independent surgeons, Laura has supported patients from initial consultation through to full recovery. Her expertise includes wound care, post-operative recovery, complication management, and patient support.Laura is passionate about delivering compassionate, personalised care and understands the physical and emotional aspects of undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Sofia Gasco
Ms Sofia graduated in Adult Nursing from the Università degli Studi di Torino in Italy before moving to the UK, where she has gained valuable experience working in two of London’s major trauma centres. With a strong interest in plastic surgery and wound care, she is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Sofia has worked closely with Mr Yapa, developing her expertise under his guidance, and plays an important role in supporting patients throughout their post-operative recovery with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Beatrice Carnelli
Beatrice graduated in Adult Nursing from the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria in Como, Italy, in 2018 and has been practising in the UK since 2020. She has developed extensive experience in plastic surgery nursing, with a particular focus on perioperative and postoperative patient care. Beatrice is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care and ensuring every patient experiences a safe, smooth, and supportive surgical journey. Working closely with Mr Yapa and the wider clinical team, she provides comprehensive postoperative support and plays a key role in maintaining exceptional standards of patient care, safety, and overall patient experience.

Dr Emma Katherine James MBBS BSc FRCA
Dr James is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with specialist interests in general and bariatric surgery, complex vascular procedures, plastic surgery, and major trauma. She trained at Imperial College London and holds an additional degree in Management from Imperial Business School. Dr James leads Imperial’s CESR Anaesthesia training programme, International Medical Graduate initiatives, and sub-specialty fellowships, receiving the 2023 Division of Surgery, Cancer and Cardiovascular Education Award for innovation. She is passionate about holistic patient care, enhanced recovery, and lifestyle medicine, with research interests focused on improving outcomes in major haemorrhage and blood product management.
Dr Sanjiv Carl Chhaya
Dr Sanjiv Carl Chhaya is a highly experienced Consultant Anaesthetist with more than 20 years of practice at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London before completing specialist training at the London Central School of Anaesthesia and an advanced fellowship in Australia. Dr Chhaya has extensive expertise across multiple surgical specialties, including plastic and cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, ENT, and day surgery. Known for his clinical excellence, calm reassurance, and patient-focused approach, he is committed to ensuring every patient feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their surgical experience.
Dr Andrew Badacsonyi
Dr Andrew Badacsonyi is a highly experienced Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensive Care Specialist with over 20 years of NHS practice. He has provided anaesthesia across a wide range of specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, and ENT. Comfortable caring for patients of all ages, Dr Badacsonyi is dedicated to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and reassuring experience throughout every stage of surgery and anaesthesia.
Dr Rajesh Mehta
Dr Rajesh Mehta is a highly experienced Consultant Anaesthetist with over 18 years of consultant practice. Trained at University College London, he completed a clinical research fellowship at The Royal Marsden Hospital and has developed specialist expertise in complex airway management, craniofacial surgery, and neurosurgery. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Mehta is actively involved in medical education and has undertaken charitable work with the organisation Facing The World, supporting adults and children with craniofacial conditions in the UK and Vietnam. He is committed to delivering safe, high-quality anaesthetic care and an excellent patient experience.
Dr Asela Dharmadasa MA. BM BCh. FRCA
Dr Dharmadasa is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust with over a decade of experience managing complex elective and emergency cases. He trained in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded the Bristol-Myers Squibb Prize in Cardiology. Passionate about education and innovation, he received the London School of Anaesthesia’s College Tutor Award in 2021, co-authored an award-recognised anaesthetic textbook, and has published multiple research papers. A strong advocate for patient safety, Dr Dharmadasa developed an award-winning tool to improve safety in obstetric anaesthesia, later independently validated internationally.
